[ and this is nozomi, having some modicum of tact and not bringing up hatohara-- they breeze into the kitchen now, where various utensils are all set up for their wonderful cooking journey!

nozomi's smile widens as she holds up an apron, also bear-print. ] You wouldn't want to get your shirt dirty, now would you, Ninomiya-kun?

she might as well be waving around a bear costume with all that she's intent on making him wear. with a mild look of distaste, ninomiya takes the apron. before he puts it on, he shrugs off his blazer first. ]

[ it seems to nozomi that the problem is ninomiya has no imagination. ]

Oh? That's all I had prepared, unfortunately.

[ and that would be amusement, wrapped around nozomi as palpable as if she were wearing it like a shawl. her one-over glance is smug. and then she whips out her phone for a picture. ]

But I could send Futaba-chan out to run a quick errand for us, if it bothers you so much. Bear-print sleeve covers, perhaps?

[ more annoyed by the overall circumstance than his current appearance, the phone is the least of his worries as he rolls his sleeves up. she can take all the pictures she wants; if it's a mere apron, he doesn't care. ]

This is fine. [ he's not here to dress up as a bear. ] You can leave your subordinate out of this.

That just makes me want to involve her more. [ that's always been in nozomi's nature-- to be contrary, and the amused lilt of her smile seems to suggest 'you know'.

but the whim passes as quickly as it forms, because that's the very moment the rice cooker beeps. ] Ah, here we are. While fried rice is best made with refrigerated rice, you really did lose the bet at the last possible moment, so I've had to make do. Could you crack a few eggs?

[ there's a carton sitting on the countertop, next to a metal bowl. ]

[ she rubs salt in his wounded pride. turning away from kako with a slight twitch in his eye, ninomiya flips the carton open and reaches for an egg, which he cracks against the edge of the metal bowl. the task is easy enough, but her direction leaves something to be desired. ]
